Puran's yoga classes are perfect for men and women of all levels of yoga experience. Relaxation, breathing and a full range of postures are covered in each session to leave you feeling energised and de-stressed. On a weekly basis Puran skilfully guides the whole group through a routine of new and familiar poses, adapting sequences to suit individual needs where appropriate. I can't rate the class highly enough.

Yoga is an ancient science and this can help us in many ways. Prime Minister of India, who has asked world leaders to adopt an International Yoga Day at the UN said: “Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day: “Yoga is an invaluable gift of our ancient tradition, it is not about exercise, but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature” “by changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it will help us to deal with Climate Change”

“Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well being,”

Finally 177 countries in the world have voted at the UN meeting to celebrate an International Yoga day on 21st June, so let us celebrate.

During your Yoga Holiday trips to the remote communities of the Himachal Himalayas, we provide a warm welcome to visitors who come to share their culture and lifestyle. The sustainable and simple life of the villagers, their generosity, and the spectacular surroundings, invariably leave a deep impression on those volunteers and school groups from abroad who choose to visit and work in the region.

While our expeditions involve adventure, fun and education, the emphasis remains on understanding and an exchange of ideas and experiences that will benefit both local and visiting children for years to come.

Our tours and expeditions are run and led by local Himalayan people, who are able to impart their knowledge of the environment and social customs, some of which date back hundreds of years. The fascinating blend of religious and social custom is unique to this region of the Himachal Himalayas faced with a harsh climate with summer rains and winter storms. The unique environment tempers all religion, superstition, birth and death, life and marriage. While globalization has reached into the area through modern media and communications, social structures have largely remain unchanged.

Your visit will make a difference by:

  • Helping revive old simple techniques of farming and craftsmenship and sustaining traditional and eco-friendly ways of living.
  • Providing educational support and improving conditions for poor and less-fortunate children.
  • Encouranging natural farming and providing better supplies for irrigation.
  • Simply raise money to our own Charity Asra to support the children and community through education support
